We breed our own discus and import discus as well. Our breeding pairs are selected from some of the finest purebred strains in the world.
2.) How difficult are discus to keep?
Don’t believe the hype about Discus. Keeping Discus can be for everyone and is also quite rewarding. They do require a bit more attention than a goldfish. The smaller the Discus the more growing they will have to do. We recommend weekly water changes (40-80% volume), if you can do more then go for it.
3.) Where do discus come from?
Discus originate in the Amazon river in South America. We source our Discus from the finest Farms around Malaysia and Singapore.
4.) How big can discus grow?
Discus can grow up to 8 inches with proper care.
5.) How long do discus live?
If well treated discus fish can live for up to 10 years.
6.) What do discus eat?
Discus will eat almost anything. At our facility we mainly feed pellets, flakes, freeze dried black worms and homemade Beefheart mix. We recommend you feed them a variety of foods also. Be cautious with frozen foods, other than homemade Beefheart mix.
7.) What PH & Temperature levels should I keep my aquarium at for raising discus?
Generally between 5 to 8. Consistency is key. Our Discus are bred and raised off tap water. We maintain a 7.2 ph.

8.) What tank size do I need to raise discus fish?
We recommend using at least a 30 gallon tank to start off with. Rule of thumb is one adult Discus per 8g of water.
9.) How do you ship your discus?
Our discus are shipped with Fedex Overnight, Ground and 2 day to guarantee the safe arrival of your fish.
10.) When will I receive my fish?
Packages are shipped within two business days. Once the package is shipped you will receive your package the following day.
11.) What do I do if I receive a dead fish?
You will need to contact Myrtle Beach Discus immediately by phone or email.
A picture of the dead fish in the original unopened bag within two hours of first attempted delivery is also required to be sent to email@example.com within two hours of arrival. A credit will be issued on your next purchase.
